Salary and Benefits
Survey for HQ Staff
For the past
25 years The Personnel Co-op has published a Salary and Benefits
Survey for non-profit organizations and foundations with international
development programs. The annual report is a 100+ report on salary and
salary ranges for 87 typical HQ jobs offered in non profit organizations
involved with international relief and development. The positions
range from Executive Director/CEO to Mail Clerk. The compensation
data is reported by geographic location, size of budget, and number
of employees.
In addition, the survey provides basic information on benefits,
perquisites, and compensation practices. All information is kept confidential
and the results of the survey are reported in a manner that protects
the confidentiality of all participants. Only those organizations
that participate in the survey will receive the results.
The Taxpayer Bill
of Rights 2 , also known as intermediate sanctions, suggests that
tax-exempt organizations should take pro-active steps to justify
compensation paid to top executives. AID's Office of Procurement
asks that PVOs certify that their personnel policies meet government
requirements. One of the standards asked is that salaries and ranges
be "reasonable". The Personnel Co-op Survey gives you
an objective standard to judge the "reasonableness" of
your organization's salaries and benefits.

compensation and allowances for not-for-profit organizations in
international development. The report provides information on salary
and salary ranges for 20 benchmark expat positions. The report includes
personnel practices, benefits and allowances for expatriate employees
as well. Only participating organizations will be offered the survey results. For more information, please contact the
