InsideNGO Advocacy Update
Thanks to the hard work of InsideNGO, its Government Relations Committee, others in the community, and the commitment of our colleagues at USAID, the new and final source, origin, nationality rule in the January 10, 2012 Federal Register reflects many of the changes that we requested.
InsideNGO will have an analysis available for members after we've had a chance to fully digest it, and will be holding a webinar to discuss the changes prior to its effective date of February 6.
This is a very positive step and shows the real benefit of the advance rule-making process which permits thorough and detailed comments on proposed regulations prior to finalization.
The changes to this regulation demonstrate what can happen when, as a community, we thoughtfully comment on a proposed rule, and we have regulators committed to more streamlined and effective regulations.
